Pre-Flop Strategy
There are many factors to consider before starting betting like crazy before the flop
You have to consider
- Position
- How aggressive/passive the other players are
- Your bankroll
- Number of players
- How much risk you are willing to take
Position: If you're in late position you have a lot more power when it comes to influence the size of the pot.
How Aggressive / Passive the other players are: If someone is raising every hand pre-flop let him win the blinds and when you are dealt a solid hand take make sure it will cost him.
Your Bankroll: If you do not have that much $$$ you will have to play carefully and if you have lots of $$$ you can take high-risk and also get high-payout's.
Number of players: If you are playing at a table with 10 players it is most likely someone else will get a good hand so you will have to take it easy. And when there are less players you can start playing more aggressively.
How much risk you are willing to take: If you don't mind loosing a couple of hands to win a bigger pot later on you should raise pre-flop and especially if your opponents are in late position.
You might want to play a hand now and then when you have a strong starting hand just to show that you get strong hands. This makes it easier to win later on when taking a higher risk.
Good Luck!
