10 Beginner Mistakes
The 10 biggest beginner mistakes
- Fear of another player. If you fear another player all youre decissions will be bad because you are not thinking about poker you are thinking about your apponent.
- Playing too many tables. When you are new you need time to study your apponents and learning how they play.
- Playing too many starting hands. If you have a bad hand you do not play it unless you're rich or stupid.
- Being friendly at the table. If you are new you do not have time to chat with the other players. You need that time to study your opponents.
- Bluffing from an early position. It is always best to bluff when there are just a few players left and when you have seen what they have been doing for some rounds.
- Not having a pre-defined bank strategy. Always now how much you can loose or win everyday that you play. For instance if you have $100 in your player account say that I can loose $10 but if I do that I will call it a day. This also means that If you can loose $10 you do not bring the whole $100 dollars when sitting down.
- Playing above your bankroll. If you do not have a fat wallet play the smaller stakes tables first. That way you can loose and learn and not get bankrupt quickly. When you feel ready move to a bigger stakes table.
- Bad positional play. It's always best to see everybody elses move before you make yours.
- Play it cool. Think before you act! Don't let your emotions run your game because you will most likely lose in the long run.
- Not getting it. If you have a king and an queen and the flop is 3--7-8 and none of the suites match your hand. FOLD do not play crappy hands.
